Our History

Golden Eagle All-Sports Camp continues to grow in popularity every year. With our great staff, hard work, emphasis on service, attention to detail, individualized attention, and understanding what children enjoy and need, the program continues to evolve to meet the requirements of the campers.

The Golden Eagle Sports Camp was founded in the summer of 1984 by Nelson Lodge (former Stanford Men’s Soccer Coach) and Monica Lodge (former Los Altos High School Athletic Director). Their four children, Annelie, Kristoph, Stefaan and Erika, began as campers and moved on to junior counselors, counselors and assistant directors. Stefaan Lodge, a three-sport varsity high school athlete and a credentialed social studies teacher, has directed the Los Altos camp for the past 8 years. Garrett Middleton, Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director/coach at Cupertino Middle School and a father of two young boys, has been directing the Homestead Camp for over a decade.

The Golden Eagle Sports Camp has been the highlight of summer fun for thousands of young local children for the past 28 years. Both working parents and stay-at-home parents have taken advantage of this safe, fun, instructional and educationally sound summer program where camp fees have stayed well below most other private camps. We are often told by returning campers that they can’t wait for the start of the camp – and this is exactly the reason that our camp has stayed in operation for 28 years.

Hope to see you this summer!
